Roles & Responsibilities
- Monitor cardiac telemetry and vital signs to detect changes in patient status
- Assess and document patient conditions, escalating concerns to the care team
- Administer medications and treatments safely and in accordance with orders
- Collaborate with physicians, techs, and fellow nurses to develop and adjust care plans
- Provide patient and family education with compassion and clarity
- Maintain accurate and timely electronic health record documentation
- Respond quickly to emergencies and assist with interventions as needed
Qualifications
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license — California licensure required
- Experience or comfort working in a telemetry/monitoring environment
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; ACLS encouraged
- Strong clinical assessment, prioritization, and communication skills
- Ability to work independently on per diem assignments and integrate with existing teams
Education
- Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred
- Successful completion of an accredited nursing program
Knowledge & Skills
- Telemetry monitoring and interpreting cardiac rhythms
- Clinical assessment and post-procedure monitoring
- IV therapy, medication administration, and safety protocols
- Electronic health record (EHR) charting and documentation
- Team collaboration, clear communication, and patient education
