Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, patient-centered nursing care on a medical-surgical/telemetry unit (MST) during 12-hour night shifts
• Perform thorough patient assessments and implement individualized care plans
• Administer medications, IV therapies, and treatments safely and accurately
• Monitor telemetry and recognize/respond to cardiac rhythm changes
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to coordinate timely patient care
• Document patient status, interventions, and outcomes clearly in the electronic health record
• Educate patients and families about conditions, treatments, and discharge plans with empathy
• Prioritize patient safety and infection control practices during every shift

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in California (or compact RN license where applicable)
• Recent experience working in medical-surgical and/or telemetry (MST) preferred
• Current BLS (Basic Life Support) required; ACLS preferred or obtainable
• Comfortable with 12-hour night shifts and triaging acuity in a fast-paced environment
• Strong clinical judgment, critical thinking, and ability to work independently
• Excellent communication skills and a collaborative mindset

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Proficient in patient assessment, medication administration, and IV management
• Telemetry monitoring and interpretation experience
• Familiarity with electronic medical records (EMR) systems and accurate documentation
• Ability to prioritize tasks, manage time effectively, and respond to changing patient needs
• Teamwork-driven approach with good bedside manner and patient advocacy
