Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality, patient-centered critical care in the ICU
- Perform continual assessment and monitoring of critically ill patients
- Administer medications and manage complex IV infusions safely
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement patient care plans
- Respond promptly to changes in patient condition and escalate concerns
- Educate patients and families about diagnoses, treatments, and discharge plans
- Document patient care accurately and timely in the electronic medical record
Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in California or compact RN license as applicable
- Recent ICU experience (clinical comfort in high-acuity settings)
- Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification; ACLS preferred or required by facility
- Strong clinical judgment, critical thinking, and effective communication skills
- Ability to work per diem schedule and adapt to varied team assignments
Education
- Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
- BSN preferred but not strictly required
Knowledge & Skills
- Clinical expertise in ventilator management and hemodynamic monitoring
- Proficiency with ICU equipment and electronic health records
- Familiarity with critical care protocols, cardiac monitoring, and advanced life support
- Excellent prioritization and time management in fast-paced environments
- Compassionate bedside manner and effective teamwork abilities
