Roles & Responsibilities
- Assess and triage patients quickly and accurately in the emergency department
- Provide hands-on acute care including medication administration and wound care
- Monitor patients’ conditions and respond rapidly to changes
- Collaborate with physicians, techs and interdisciplinary staff to coordinate care
- Document assessments, treatments and patient education clearly and professionally
- Support patient and family understanding with compassionate communication
- Maintain safety, infection control and ER-specific protocols at all times
Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in California required
- BLS certification required; ACLS and PALS preferred
- Previous Emergency Room nursing experience preferred
- Comfortable with fast-paced environments and high-acuity patients
- Strong communication, teamwork and critical thinking skills
- Able to pass required background checks and credentialing
Education
- Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required; BSN preferred
Knowledge & Skills
- Emergency triage and rapid assessment
- Acute care procedures and medication administration
- IV therapy and wound management
- Basic cardiac monitoring and recognition of life-threatening rhythms
- Prioritization and time management under pressure
- Proficient with electronic charting and clinical documentation
