Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, high-quality critical care nursing during the assigned shift
- Perform thorough patient assessments and communicate changes to the care team
- Administer medications, manage IVs and titrate drips per orders
- Collaborate with physicians, respiratory therapists, and other clinicians to optimize patient outcomes
- Document care accurately and timely in the patient record
- Support safe patient transfers, admissions, and discharges with attention to detail
Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license valid in California (or compact state where applicable)
- Experience working in an ICU or critical care setting
- Current BLS certification; ACLS preferred or willing to obtain
- Comfortable with ventilator care, hemodynamic monitoring, and critical care medication administration
- Strong communication skills and ability to work in a fast-paced team environment
Education
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program (ADN or BSN). BSN preferred.
Knowledge & Skills
- Critical care assessment and rapid recognition of patient deterioration
- Familiarity with telemetry, ventilators, infusion pumps and advanced monitoring
- Medication administration and titration for critical care patients
- Accurate clinical documentation and handoff communication
- Teamwork, delegation, and prioritization in high-acuity settings
