Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, hands-on care to patients, assisting with activities of daily living
• Perform routine vital sign checks and promptly report changes to the nursing team
• Support safe patient transfers and mobility, using proper body mechanics
• Maintain accurate, timely documentation of patient care and observations
• Follow infection control practices and help maintain a clean patient environment
• Communicate effectively with patients, families, and the interdisciplinary care team
• Assist with meal service, personal hygiene, and comfort needs to preserve dignity
• Contribute to a positive, team-oriented workplace that prioritizes patient safety

Qualifications

• Valid Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification in the state of practice
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) or CPR certification preferred or required by facility
• Prior experience in long-term care, acute care, or similar patient care setting preferred
• Ability to pass background check, drug screen, and required health screenings
• Reliable transportation and punctual, professional presence for per diem shifts
• Strong communication skills and a patient-centered attitude

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Completion of an accredited CNA training program

Knowledge & Skills

• Knowledge of activities of daily living and basic patient care techniques
• Ability to take and record vital signs accurately
• Familiarity with infection control and safety procedures
• Comfort with basic charting and following care plans
• Good interpersonal skills for working with patients and interdisciplinary teams
• Physical ability to assist with transfers and repositioning
