Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality clinical services in the Healthcare for the Homeless Primary Care Program alongside providers and clinic staff
• Perform patient assessments, specimen collection, and point-of-care testing with accurate quality control checks
• Maintain medication inventory and manage supplies not tracked by the Warehouse PAR system
• Document all care and services clearly and promptly in the EMR to support continuity of care
• Anticipate provider and clinic needs and assist to ensure efficient, patient-centered workflows
• Adhere to infection control policies and maintain a clean, safe clinic environment
• Participate in training, annual competencies, and staff meetings to keep skills current
• Report equipment issues and safety hazards and escalate unresolved concerns appropriately

Qualifications

• Active, full, unrestricted Alaska Registered Nursing license required at time of submittal
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• Minimum of 2 years primary care experience
• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Comfort with computers and EMR documentation
• Ability to lift/move up to 50 lbs and perform frequent standing/walking
• Strong communication, teamwork, critical thinking, and customer service skills

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent required

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong understanding of the nursing process and clinical assessment
• Infection control and safety principles
• Medication management and point-of-care testing procedures
• Specimen collection and proper documentation practices
• Proficiency with medical equipment and electronic medical records
• Effective oral and written communication
• Problem solving, multi-tasking, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced setting
• Willingness to teach and support peers when appropriate
