Contract Type: Travel Contract

Shift Type: Night shift, 6:30 PM - 7:30 AM, 3 shifts per week (36 hours)

Hours per Week: 36

Candidate Pay Rate: $46 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Provide comprehensive respiratory care to patients in a hospital setting
Administer oxygen therapy, aerosol treatments, and chest physiotherapy
Manage and monitor mechanical ventilators for critically ill patients
Perform arterial blood gas draws and interpret results to adjust therapy
Collaborate with physicians and nursing staff to optimize patient outcomes
Educate patients and families on respiratory conditions and home care

Qualifications

Active Respiratory Therapist license in Michigan
BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required
ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) certification required
PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) certification required
Minimum of 1 year of recent acute care experience preferred

Knowledge & Skills

Strong understanding of respiratory physiology and pathophysiology
Proficiency in ventilator management and troubleshooting
Excellent patient assessment and critical thinking skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
Effective communication skills for patient and family education
Familiarity with electronic medical records (EMR) systems
