Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide thorough dental cleanings and prophylaxes to pediatric patients
- Educate young patients and their families on proper oral hygiene techniques
- Assist the dentist during examinations and procedures
- Take and develop dental x-rays as needed
- Maintain accurate patient records and chart findings
- Sterilize and prepare dental instruments and treatment rooms
Qualifications
- Active Dental Hygienist license in the state of Maryland
- Current CPR/BLS certification required
- Pediatric experience preferred but not required
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Education
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Dental Hygiene from an accredited program
Knowledge & Skills
- In-depth knowledge of dental hygiene procedures and best practices
- Proficiency in taking and interpreting dental radiographs
- Strong patient education and motivational interviewing skills
- Attention to detail and infection control protocols
- Familiarity with dental practice management software
