Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, patient-centered nursing care during evening and overnight hours
• Administer medications and treatments accurately and safely
• Assess patient condition, monitor changes, and escalate concerns to the care team
• Document patient care, vitals, and interventions in the chart thoroughly and timely
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary staff to ensure smooth transitions of care
• Educate patients and families on care plans, discharge instructions, and follow-up needs
• Support unit workflow during admissions, discharges, and shift transitions

Qualifications

• Current, active Registered Nurse (RN) license — state of practice required
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification; ACLS or PALS as required by unit or employer
• Per diem or acute care nursing experience preferred; new grads with strong clinical skills welcome to apply
• Comfortable working overnight shifts and managing admissions/acuity in a nursing setting
• Strong communication, teamwork, and time-management skills

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) — or equivalent nursing education

Knowledge & Skills

• Clinical assessment and nursing judgment for adult and/or geriatric patients
• Medication administration and IV pump management
• Electronic health record (EHR) charting and documentation best practices
• Infection control procedures and safe patient handling
• Clear communication with patients, families, and the interdisciplinary team
• Ability to prioritize and multitask in a fast-paced care environment
