Roles & Responsibilities

• Assess and triage emergency patients quickly and compassionately to prioritize care
• Perform patient assessments and monitor vital signs, escalating concerns as needed
• Start IVs and manage intravenous therapies safely and effectively
• Perform and interpret 12-lead EKGs and initiate appropriate nursing interventions
• Document care accurately in Meditech and maintain clear communication with the care team
• Collaborate with physicians, CNAs, and support staff to deliver coordinated emergency care
• Support a positive unit culture by being inclusive, helpful, and a strong team player
• Rotate weekends as scheduled to ensure continuous, high-quality coverage

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) — Emergency nursing specialty experience preferred
• Minimum ~1 year of clinical experience (documented experience indicated in job details)
• Hands-on proficiency with IV starts and 12-lead EKGs
• Familiarity with Meditech or similar EMR systems
• Comfort working in a Free Standing Emergency Department (FSED) environment
• Willingness to work rotating weekends and night shifts

Knowledge & Skills

• Emergency assessment and triage skills
• IV insertion and management
• 12-lead EKG acquisition and basic interpretation
• Meditech documentation and electronic charting
• Ability to work calmly under pressure and prioritize multiple patients
• Strong communication and teamwork in a fast-paced ED setting
