Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, patient-centered care during night shifts to ensure comfort and safety
• Assist patients with activities of daily living (bathing, dressing, feeding, toileting)
• Take and record vital signs, and report changes promptly to nursing staff
• Support patient mobility and fall prevention measures
• Document care accurately and communicate updates clearly during handoffs
• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to follow care plans and meet patient goals
• Maintain infection control standards and a clean, safe environment for patients

Qualifications

• Current and valid CNA certification in the state of California
• Previous CNA experience in a clinical setting preferred
• Ability to work overnight 12-hour shifts and remain alert during night duties
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification preferred or willing to obtain
• Up-to-date immunizations and background checks as required by facility
• Strong communication skills and a compassionate bedside manner

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Completion of an accredited CNA training program

Knowledge & Skills

• Fundamentals of patient care and comfort measures
• Vital signs measurement and basic clinical observations
• Safe patient transfer and mobility assistance techniques
• Infection prevention and control practices
• Accurate charting and basic electronic documentation
• Team communication and effective handoffs
