Geriatric Nursing Assistant
Location: Lanham, MD
Contract Type: Per-Diem
Shift Type: Per diem evening shift, 3:00 PM - 11:00 PM (Evening). Days not specified
Hours per Week: 40
Candidate Pay Rate: $19 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate hands-on care for geriatric patients, assisting with activities of daily living
- Support mobility and fall-prevention efforts to keep patients safe and independent
- Assist nursing staff with bathing, dressing, toileting, feeding, and ambulation
- Monitor and document patient status and changes, communicating clearly with the care team
- Create a respectful, dignified environment that promotes patient comfort and recovery
- Help maintain a clean, safe patient area and adhere to infection control practices
Qualifications
- Current GNA (Geriatric Nursing Assistant) certification required
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced rehab/geriatric environment
- Strong communication skills and a team-first attitude
- Willingness to complete facility-required screenings and trainings
Education
- High school diploma or equivalent
- GNA certification
Knowledge & Skills
- Knowledge of ADLs and basic geriatric care needs
- Basic patient transfer and safe mobility techniques
- Familiarity with documentation and reporting practices
- Awareness of infection control and patient safety principles
- Good interpersonal skills with patients, families, and clinical teams
