Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide clinical oversight for the Occupational Therapy department, ensuring high-quality patient care and adherence to professional standards
• Lead and coordinate clinical education and competency processes for OT staff, promoting continuous learning and best practices
• Directly supervise certified Occupational Therapy Assistants (COTAs) and Rehabilitation Technicians, offering mentorship and performance feedback
• Maintain and enforce regulatory compliance, policies, and procedures related to scope of care, documentation, and discharge planning
• Conduct patient evaluations and provide treatment 80% of the time, delivering hands-on, patient-centered therapy
• Drive program development and support administrative initiatives for service improvement (approximately 20% of time)
• Oversee development and maintenance of the Occupational Therapy policy and procedure manual to ensure consistent standards of care

Qualifications

• Graduate of an Occupational Therapy program approved by the American Occupational Therapy Association (required)
• Currently licensed to practice Occupational Therapy in the State of California (Board of Medical Quality Assurance) (required)
• Possess any additional qualifications recommended by the CA Therapy Board and the Rehabilitation Services Department (required)
• Experience supervising and mentoring COTAs and Rehabilitation Technicians
• Familiarity with clinical competency assessment, policy and procedure development, and documentation standards
• Membership in the American Occupational Therapy Association (AOTA) preferred

Education

• Graduate of a school of Occupational Therapy approved by the American Occupational Therapy Association
