Roles & Responsibilities

• Assist surgeons as First Assist during orthopedic, GYN (laparoscopic, robotic, open), general, ENT, podiatry and spine procedures
• Perform sterile scrub and assist with robotic surgery setup and intraoperative assistance
• Maintain strict sterile technique and ensure instrument readiness for each case
• Operate and support Meditech EMR documentation related to surgical cases
• Collaborate with OR team to triage cases, anticipate needs, and improve patient outcomes
• Float to endoscopy or other areas as needed and provide consistent high-quality patient care

Qualifications

• Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) required
• BLS certification required
• Minimum 2 years recent OR experience (explicit in job posting)
• First Assist experience required or demonstrated competency in first assist duties
• Meditech EMR experience preferred
• CNOR certification preferred (nice-to-have)
• Comfortable with robotic procedures and orthopedic cases (shoulders, knees, hips, trauma)

Education

• Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) — required
• High school diploma or equivalent; additional surgical/first assist training preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Proficient in scrub/sterile technique and instrument handling
• Experience assisting in robotic surgeries and robotic instrumentation
• Knowledge of a broad mix of procedures: ortho, GYN, general, ENT, podiatry, spine
• Familiarity with Meditech electronic medical record workflows
• Strong teamwork, communication, and adaptability in a fast-paced OR environment
