Shift Type: Rotating 12-hour shifts, 11:00 AM - 11:00 PM, typically 3 shifts/week and includes some weekends (Full time)

Roles & Responsibilities

Provide direct and indirect patient care in the emergency department, delivering compassionate, high-quality care
Triage patients rapidly and accurately to prioritize care based on physical and psychosocial needs
Assess patient condition, interpret diagnostic results, and communicate changes to ER physicians and mid-level providers
Respond quickly and appropriately to changes in patient status and responses to treatment
Coordinate patient flow and collaborate with registration staff, allied health, and ED techs to maintain efficient operations
Give direction to emergency department techs and registration staff while receiving guidance from the ED Director and physicians
Document care thoroughly and support continuity by communicating handoffs and status updates clearly

Qualifications

Current Montana State RN license required
BLS, ACLS, PALS required or to be obtained within 6 months of hire
TNCC and ENPC required or to be obtained within 6 months of hire
Minimum 2 years of emergency department nursing experience required
CEN and BSN preferred but not required
Ability to pass pre-employment screening including criminal background check, drug screen, and health/immunization verification

Education

Degree from an accredited nursing program required
Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred

Knowledge & Skills

Strong emergency department nursing principles and procedures
Skilled in triage, patient assessment, and rapid decision making
Proficient IV skills and operation of manual and electronic medical equipment
Basic computer and documentation skills
Excellent teamwork, communication, and the ability to give clear direction to support staff
