Location: Dayton, Ohio
Start Date: 07-17-2026
Contract Type: Per-Diem
Shift Type: Flexible per diem schedule, 9.5-hour shifts, available Monday through Sunday, with start times typically between 6:00 AM and 8:00 AM based on facility needs
Candidate Pay Rate: $46 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive preoperative assessments of pediatric patients
- Prepare patients and families for surgical procedures with education and support
- Administer medications and interventions as prescribed
- Collaborate with surgical team to ensure smooth patient flow
- Maintain accurate patient records and document care provided
- Advocate for patient safety and comfort throughout the preoperative process
Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Ohio
- BLS certification required; ACLS preferred
- Experience in perioperative or preoperative nursing strongly preferred
- Excellent communication and patient education skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
Education
- Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred
Knowledge & Skills
- Strong assessment and critical thinking skills
- Knowledge of perioperative nursing standards and best practices
- Comfortable with pediatric patient populations and family-centered care
- Proficient in electronic health records and documentation
- Time management and organizational skills to handle a fast-paced environment
