Roles & Responsibilities

• Deliver expert perioperative nursing care to patients undergoing general, ENT, neuro, spine, ortho, and robotic surgeries
• Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and OR techs to ensure seamless surgical procedures
• Utilize Epic EMR to accurately document patient care and surgical details
• Maintain a sterile and safe environment, adhering to infection control protocols
• Act as a patient advocate, providing emotional support and education before, during, and after surgery
• Participate in call rotation with the team, responding within 30 minutes when paged

Qualifications

• Active RN license (compact accepted)
• Minimum 2 years of OR nursing experience
• Must have trauma and neuro experience - this is essential!
• BLS certification (AHA required)
• Charge nurse experience is a plus, but not required
• Willingness to float within Zone 1 (PEN, SFH, SFI, SMC, STM) if extreme need arises

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong knowledge of surgical instruments and sterile technique
• Familiarity with Epic charting system
• Ability to quickly assess and respond to critical situations in a Level 2 trauma center
• Skill in managing complex neuro and spine cases
• Effective communication and teamwork in a fast-paced OR environment
