Roles & Responsibilities

• Triage and assess patients presenting with a wide range of emergencies, from cardiac arrests to trauma
• Administer medications, start IVs, and provide life-saving interventions in high-pressure situations
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of physicians, mid-levels, and ED techs to deliver exceptional patient care
• Manage your own patient assignments with a 1:3 ratio, ensuring quality and safety
• Document accurately in Epic and coordinate with in-house security and sitters for patient safety
• Float to different areas as needed, including the fast track and triage, to keep the ED running smoothly

Qualifications

• Active Washington or Compact RN license
• Minimum 2 years of recent emergency department experience in a larger trauma setting
• Current BLS, ACLS, PALS or ENPC, and TNCC certifications
• NIHSS certification to care for stroke patients
• Experience with Epic charting is a plus

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong clinical judgment and critical thinking in emergency situations
• Knowledge of cardiac, stroke, sepsis, DKA, and respiratory emergencies
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with a high volume of patients (170-200 per day)
• Excellent communication skills for interacting with patients, families, and the care team
• Comfortable using Epic EMR and managing telemetry
