Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide safe and compassionate care to obstetric patients during labor, delivery, postpartum, and recovery
• Float to the medical-surgical floor to care for patients when obstetric census is low
• Monitor maternal and fetal vital signs and report changes to the healthcare team
• Assist in the delivery process and provide immediate newborn care
• Educate patients and families on postpartum care and newborn feeding
• Document care accurately in the Point Click electronic health record

Qualifications

• Current and active RN license in Iowa
• BLS/BCLS, ACLS, PALS, and NRP certifications required
• Additional certifications welcome: CPI, ENPC, RNFA, TNCC, AWHONN, STABLE, ASLS, NBSTSA, APHON, CMA, CCMA, RMA
• Previous experience in obstetrics and med-surg nursing preferred
• Ability to float between units as needed

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong knowledge of obstetric nursing principles and practices
• Aptitude for med-surg nursing with the ability to adapt to varying patient acuity
• Proficiency with Point Click EMR system
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills
• Critical thinking and quick decision-making in high-pressure situations
