Contract Type: Travel Contract
Shift Type: Rotating 12-hour shifts, 7:00 AM - 7:00 PM and 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM
Hours per Week: 36
Candidate Pay Rate: $60 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide specialized care for patients with epilepsy, brain tumors, and neurological conditions on a 48-bed Neuro Acute unit
- Monitor patients during 24-48 hour Trend EEGs and assess for subtle neurological changes
- Collaborate with charge nurses, resource RNs, and PCTs to deliver exceptional patient care with 1:4 ratios
- Float to MS/Tele units and sister campuses while maintaining high standards of care
- Complete skills validation including Foley catheter insertion and central line dressing changes
- Utilize critical thinking to detect small changes in patients with complex neurological diagnoses
Qualifications
- Active RN license with minimum 2 years of experience required
- BLS and ACLS certifications required
- BSN preferred, Med Surg/Tele certification preferred
- Level 1 trauma experience strongly preferred
- Must pass dysrhythmia exam with up to 2 attempts
- Clean driving record and reliable personal vehicle required
Education
- BSN preferred
Knowledge & Skills
- Strong critical thinking and assessment skills for detecting subtle patient changes
- Experience with epilepsy monitoring and neurological conditions
- Competency in maintaining sterile field during procedures
- Ability to assess cranial nerves and manage complex neuro patients
- Comfortable with self-releasing velcro seat belts and non-restraint protocols
