Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, patient-centered care to med/surg patients, including those with COVID-19
• Perform comprehensive assessments and monitor patient conditions
• Administer medications, IVs, and manage central lines and urinary catheters
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure optimal outcomes
• Document accurately in the EHR and communicate effectively with patients and families
• Float to other med/surg units as needed to support the team

Qualifications

• Active RN license in Texas or compact state
• At least 1 year of acute med/surg experience within the last year
• Ability to care for 4-6 patients at a time
• BLS certification required; ACLS preferred
• Orthopedic or neurosurgery background is a plus
• Friendly, positive, and team-focused attitude

Knowledge & Skills

• IV insertion and management
• Urinary catheter insertion and maintenance
• Central line maintenance
• Medication administration including high-alert drugs
• EHR documentation (Meditech experience preferred)
• Med/Surg Telemetry skills desirable
