Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, patient-centered care to adults and older adults in a 32-bed Medical/Telemetry unit.
• Maintain a focused, safe 1:5 patient-to-nurse ratio while delivering high-quality care.
• Monitor telemetry and manage acute conditions, including trauma patients and those on Heparin drips.
• Administer all acute medications as ordered and document accurately in EPIC EMR.
• Collaborate with the care team to promote rehabilitation, skilled nursing support, and safe patient mobility.
• Use specialty equipment such as gait belts, geriatric chairs, and PT equipment to enhance patient safety.
• Maintain clear, compassionate communication with patients, families, and interdisciplinary team members.

Qualifications

• Active RN license in Georgia or a compact state (NLC accepted)
• BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Documented medical/telemetry experience with a completed skills checklist
• EPIC EMR experience strongly preferred
• Skilled nursing, rehabilitation, or NICHE training experience is a plus
• Must be comfortable caring for adult and geriatric patients with acute conditions
• Willing to work the full 13-week assignment with no requests for time off (no RTO)

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong telemetry interpretation and cardiac monitoring skills
• Experience managing Heparin drips and anticoagulation therapy
• Knowledge of acute medication administration and IV therapy
• Familiarity with EPIC EMR
• Understanding of geriatric patient needs and safe mobility techniques
• Excellent critical thinking, communication, and teamwork abilities
