Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, comprehensive nursing care to medical-surgical and orthopedic patients
• Monitor patient vital signs, administer medications, and manage IV therapies, including Heparin drips
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of physicians, therapists, and technicians to create personalized care plans
• Educate patients and their families on treatment plans, discharge instructions, and post-hospital care
• Accurately document patient assessments, interventions, and outcomes in EPIC charting system
• Float to PCU or Burn units when needed to support the team

Qualifications

• Active RN license in Nebraska or compact state
• BLS certification required
• Minimum of 1 year of Med Surg or related nursing experience
• Experience with EPIC charting system preferred
• Ability to pass an open-book skills exam during orientation (90% required)
• Driver's license required to verify residency (50-mile radius rule)

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills
• Proficiency in EPIC electronic health records
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Knowledge of medical-surgical nursing best practices
• Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
• Adaptability and willingness to float to different units
