Shift Type: Rotating 12-hour shifts: 7:00 AM - 7:00 PM and 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM; every other weekend required (Fri/Sat nights or Sat/Sun days); holidays rotate (one of every 3 major holidays); optional short on-call windows (4-hour increments) when low census — when on call must be within 20 minutes of hospital

Roles & Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality labor and delivery nursing care, supporting patients through labor, delivery and immediate postpartum
• Monitor fetal status using advanced fetal monitoring and Cerner fetal links to ensure the best outcomes
• Serve as charge nurse and triage patients as needed, coordinating care across the unit
• Collaborate closely with anesthesia, OB/GYN, NICU and interdisciplinary teams for seamless patient care
• Float to postpartum in rotation and provide excellent postpartum and lactation support
• Document clinical care thoroughly and accurately in Cerner PowerChart (Maternity)
• Participate in unit orientation and mentor new staff to maintain high standards of practice
• Uphold infant security procedures and safety protocols while delivering compassionate family-centered care

Qualifications

• Active RN license (eligible to practice) — ability to submit license required
• Minimum 2 years of nursing experience (Labor & Delivery experience preferred)
• Required certifications: ACLS, Advanced Fetal Monitoring, BLS, NRP
• Comfortable with Cerner PowerChart (Maternity) and Cerner fetal monitoring systems
• Experience with 12-hour L&D shifts and ability to work rotating weekends/holidays
• Ability to triage patients and perform charge nurse duties; experience as charge/triage nurse is a plus
• Mandarin language skills are a plus given patient population

Education

• Nursing degree (ADN, Diploma or BSN)
• BSN not required for submission

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong fetal heart monitoring and interpretation skills
• Familiarity with epidural management and common L&D interventions
• Postpartum care and lactation support knowledge
• Experience collaborating with Level 2 NICU teams and neonatal handoffs
• Proficient charting in Cerner and use of in-hospital communication tools
• Excellent clinical judgment, triage skills and effective communication with families and providers
• Ability to adapt in a fast-paced acute care maternity unit and support team-based care
