Roles & Responsibilities

• Collaborate with the health care team using evidence-based practice to ensure safe, optimal patient outcomes
• Promote continuity of care by communicating effectively with the interdisciplinary team and families
• Direct the work of support staff in the provision of care
• Perform general nursing duties with critical thinking skills and minimal supervision
• Provide age-specific care for neonate, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited RN program (BSN preferred)
• Current and active Registered Nurse license in the state of Iowa in good standing
• Current American Heart Association BLS certification (must obtain within 3 months if not current)
• Current ACLS certification (must obtain per facility policy)
• Nursing experience in an acute care setting preferred
• Ability to read and communicate effectively in English
• High degree of empathetic listening skills, tact, and kindness
• Basic computer knowledge and strong communication skills
• Technical and critical thinking skills for sound nursing judgment

Education

• Graduate of an accredited RN program
