Roles & Responsibilities

  • Provide compassionate, high-quality critical care to adult ICU patients
  • Manage ventilators, hemodynamic monitoring, and complex medication regimens
  • Perform thorough assessments and prioritize care in high-acuity situations
  • Collaborate closely with physicians, respiratory therapists, and the multidisciplinary team
  • Document patient care accurately and timely in the electronic health record
  • Educate patients and families about treatment plans and recovery expectations
  • Participate in unit-based quality improvement and safety initiatives

Qualifications

  • Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in California (or compact state as applicable)
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) required; Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) strongly preferred
  • Prior ICU or critical care experience preferred
  • Strong clinical assessment skills and ability to manage complex patients
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills

Education

  • Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred

Knowledge & Skills

  • Ventilator management and respiratory care for critically ill patients
  • Hemodynamic monitoring and titration of vasoactive infusions
  • Critical care medication administration and infusion pump management
  • Proficient charting in electronic health record systems
  • Infection control practices and ICU-specific protocols
  • Rapid assessment, triage, and crisis management abilities
