Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality, patient-centered critical care in the ICU
• Assess and monitor complex patients, recognizing changes and escalating appropriately
• Administer medications and treatments safely and accurately
• Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to develop and implement care plans
• Document patient status, interventions, and responses in a timely manner
• Educate patients and families with compassion and clarity during stressful times
• Participate in unit-based quality improvement and safety initiatives

Qualifications

• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in California (or compact/eligible where applicable)
• Experience working in an ICU setting (prior critical care experience preferred)
• BLS (Basic Life Support) required; ACLS and/or PALS strongly preferred
• Strong assessment, critical thinking, and prioritization skills
• Comfortable with ventilators, hemodynamic monitoring, and vasoactive medication management
• Ability to work overnight shifts independently and as part of a team

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required; Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred
• Completion of required hospital orientation and unit competencies

Knowledge & Skills

• Critical care nursing fundamentals and ICU protocols
• Familiarity with advanced cardiac life support and emergency response
• Proficient charting and documentation in electronic medical records
• Strong communication and teamwork skills under pressure
• Medication administration and titration for critically ill patients
• Infection control practices and safe patient handling
