Location: Bakersfield, California

End Date: 09-28-2026

Contract Type: Contract

Shift Type: Monday-Friday, 7:00 AM start with variable end times, plus rotating call coverage including weekends and holidays

Hours per Week: 40

Candidate Pay Rate: $98 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Assist surgeons as the first assistant during complex orthopedic, robotic, neurosurgical, gynecologic, and vascular procedures
Provide expert support for total joint replacements, robotic hysterectomies, brain tumor resections, and vascular reconstructions
Collaborate with the surgical team to ensure optimal patient outcomes across diverse specialties
Float between campuses as needed while maintaining the highest standards of sterile technique and patient safety
Respond to call coverage within 30 minutes to support urgent and emergent cases

Qualifications

Active RNFA certification with current BLS and ACLS credentials
Demonstrated experience in ortho, robotics, neuro, and GYN surgical specialties
Strong scrubbing skills required for RNFA role
Ability to work 40 hours per week with flexible scheduling and call rotation
Comfortable floating between campuses and adapting to varying case volumes

Knowledge & Skills

Expert knowledge of orthopedic, robotic, neurosurgical, gynecologic, and vascular procedures
Proficiency with Cerner electronic medical record system
Strong understanding of DaVinci robotic systems and advanced surgical techniques
Excellent communication and teamwork abilities in fast-paced OR environments
Ability to handle call responsibilities and respond within 30 minutes
