Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality, patient-centered emergency nursing care with professionalism
• Assess, triage, and monitor patients presenting to the emergency department
• Administer medications, treatments, and interventions as ordered
• Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary team members to develop and implement care plans
• Document assessments, interventions, and patient responses accurately and timely
• Educate patients and families about diagnoses, treatments, and discharge instructions
• Maintain situational awareness and respond quickly in acute or rapidly changing situations

Qualifications

• Current and active RN license in California (or compact licensure as applicable)
• Emergency department experience preferred
• Current BLS (Basic Life Support) required; ACLS and PALS preferred or obtained quickly
• Strong assessment and clinical decision-making skills in high-acuity settings
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills
• Ability to work 12-hour day shifts and adapt to varying patient volumes

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required; BSN preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Proficient in emergency nursing assessments and triage
• Knowledge of common ED interventions, IV/med administration, and wound care
• Familiarity with electronic medical record documentation
• Ability to prioritize care under pressure and manage multiple patients
• Skilled at patient/family education and de-escalation techniques
