Roles & Responsibilities

• Assess, triage, and prioritize patients quickly and accurately in a fast-paced ER environment
• Stabilize and manage critically ill or injured patients using evidence-based emergency care
• Administer medications, IV therapy, and treatments safely and in a timely manner
• Collaborate with physicians, techs, and support staff to develop and carry out patient care plans
• Document patient assessments and care thoroughly and promptly in the medical record
• Educate patients and families about diagnoses, treatments, and follow-up care
• Maintain calm, clear communication during high-stress situations to improve outcomes

Qualifications

• Active RN license (state license or compact RN as applicable) — must be eligible to practice in California
• Recent clinical experience in Emergency Nursing preferred
• Current BLS (Basic Life Support) required; ACLS and PALS preferred or obtainable
• Strong assessment, critical thinking, and IV/medication administration skills
• Ability to work overnight/night shifts and adapt to a dynamic ED environment
• Excellent teamwork, communication, and documentation skills

Education

• Associate's Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Emergency triage and rapid patient assessment
• Stabilization techniques for trauma and acute medical conditions
• IV start and medication administration best practices
• Familiarity with emergency protocols and codes
• Effective, compassionate patient and family communication
• Accurate electronic health record documentation and handoff communication
