Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality emergency nursing care to patients across the acuity spectrum
- Perform rapid triage and prioritize care in a fast-paced ER setting
- Administer medications and treatments safely and accurately
- Collaborate with physicians, techs, and support staff to coordinate patient care
- Document assessments and care plans clearly in the medical record
- Educate patients and families about conditions, treatments, and follow-up
- Maintain situational awareness and respond effectively to emergent situations
Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of California
- Current BLS required; ACLS and PALS preferred or obtainable
- Emergency Room experience preferred, comfortable with high-acuity patients
- Strong clinical assessment, critical thinking, and prioritization skills
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
Education
- Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN); BSN preferred
Knowledge & Skills
- Triage and emergency assessment skills
- Stability and monitoring of critically ill patients
- IV therapy, medication administration, and wound care
- Clear, timely clinical documentation and handoffs
- Ability to remain calm and decisive under pressure
- Basic familiarity with electronic health records and order entry
