Contract Type: Travel Contract

Shift Type: 12-hour shifts, day and night shifts starting at 6:45 AM/PM; midshifts at 9:00 AM/PM, 11:00 AM/PM, 1:00 PM/AM, 3:00 PM/AM; every other weekend

Hours per Week: 36

Candidate Pay Rate: $55 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Provide comprehensive emergency nursing care to a diverse patient population including pediatrics, cardiac, stroke, and trauma patients
Monitor and interpret telemetry strips and EKGs, and manage advanced cardiac drips like pressors and sedation
Collaborate with a dedicated team of MDs, midlevels, and support staff in a fast-paced Level III ED with STEMI and stroke receiving capabilities
Care for patients in a 18-bed ED with 4 critical rooms, including hold patients and psych patients (with external placement coordination)
Troubleshoot respiratory equipment from nasal cannula to vents, and assist with procedures as needed

Qualifications

Active RN license in Texas or compact state
Minimum 2 years of recent Emergency Room experience
Current BLS, ACLS, PALS, and TNCC certifications
Must pass an Advanced Dysrhythmia exam (83% or higher) before starting
First-time travelers welcome!
No call or standby requirements

Knowledge & Skills

Strong ECG interpretation and dysrhythmia recognition skills
Proficient in managing cardiac drips and high-acuity patients
Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team
Excellent communication and adaptability in a dynamic environment
