Roles & Responsibilities

• Prepare procedure rooms, equipment, and patients for cardiovascular, EP, and interventional neurology procedures to ensure safe, efficient care
• Assist physicians by circulating during diagnostic and interventional cardiac catheterizations, EP procedures, device implants, structural heart interventions (TAVR, LAAO) and neuro-interventional cases
• Continuously monitor and assess patients pre-, intra-, and post-procedure, communicating abnormal findings immediately to physicians or nurse practitioners
• Administer procedural sedation per unit policies and manage patient recovery with safe handoffs to receiving staff
• Document procedures, handoffs, and real-time patient data accurately in MacLab/CardioLab and the electronic health record
• Lead and participate in safety checks such as Full Stop and Time Out processes prior to each procedure
• Operate specialty equipment including fluoroscopy, intracardiac ultrasound, and 3D mapping systems as appropriate for the case mix
• Serve as a mentor/preceptor for new staff and maintain a commitment to continual professional development

Qualifications

• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license required
• Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) required
• Experience required: Cath Lab, ICU, CVICU or IMC experience preferred; new grads and Med/Surg-only candidates are not being considered
• Proven ability to circulate procedures independently and document in MacLab/CardioLab or similar systems
• Comfort with procedural sedation, patient monitoring, and responding to on-call situations
• Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams

Education

• Bachelor's Degree in Nursing preferred
• Associate Degree or Nursing Diploma acceptable if BSN completed within 36 months of hire

Knowledge & Skills

• Fluoroscopy proficiency and comfort working in radiation environment
• Real-time electronic documentation and procedural logging in MacLab/CardioLab
• Hemodynamics, intra-cardiac ultrasound, and 3D mapping system familiarity
• Circulating procedures and supporting physician workflow in high-acuity labs
• Patient assessment, pre/post-procedural monitoring, and safe sedation practices
• Adherence to safety/time-out protocols and sterile technique
