Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, patient-centered nursing care for behavioral health patients
• Perform thorough assessments and develop individualized care plans
• Administer medications safely and monitor patient responses
• Use therapeutic communication and de-escalation techniques to manage crises
• Collaborate closely with the interdisciplinary team to coordinate care
• Document patient care accurately and timely in the medical record
• Educate patients and families about treatment plans and coping strategies
• Participate actively in orientation and unit-based learning to support team excellence

Qualifications

• Current, active RN license (ability to obtain/maintain RN licensure in New Hampshire preferred)
• Clinical experience or interest in behavioral health nursing (BHS) is preferred
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required or must obtain
• Comfort with crisis intervention and therapeutic communication
• Professional, reliable, and able to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team

Education

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program (ADN or BSN preferred)
• Current RN licensure and required state credentials

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong assessment and clinical judgment skills in behavioral health settings
• Medication administration and monitoring best practices
• Crisis de-escalation and safety planning knowledge
• Clear, compassionate patient and family communication
• Familiarity with electronic medical records and accurate documentation
• Teamwork, adaptability, and good time management
