Roles & Responsibilities

Perform initial triage and assessments for urgent care patients of all ages
Provide telephone assessments and self-care advice
Administer medications via multiple routes including IV push and infusion
Initiate and maintain IV access while monitoring patients closely
Coordinate patient care and referrals across facilities
Document all interventions and educate patients effectively
Maintain a safe environment and adhere to infection control
Collaborate with the team to respond to emergencies and improve processes

Qualifications

Current full unrestricted Registered Nurse license in Alaska or other U.S. state
Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification preferred
2 years of general nursing experience with at least 1 year in ambulatory or urgent care
Clinical Competency and High Risk Competency within 3 months of hire

Education

Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
High school diploma or equivalent

Knowledge & Skills

Nursing process and critical thinking
Patient assessment and prioritization
IV access and medication administration
EMR systems and charting
Customer service and infection control principles
Multi-tasking in fast-paced urgent care settings
