Roles & Responsibilities

Provide essential clinical support and meet educational needs of new employees, staff, and students
Plan, develop, implement, and evaluate educational activities including orientation and continuing education
Offer clinical guidance on complex patient care, medication administration, and treatment plans
Mentor nursing staff to enhance clinical skills and serve as a practice resource
Analyze patient data to identify practice gaps and implement targeted interventions
Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to advance evidence-based care standards
Act as patient and family advocate while promoting innovations for better service quality and safety

Qualifications

Current unencumbered Registered Nurse License for the state of Alaska
Basic Life Support (BLS)
Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)
Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)
Minimum of 5 years experience as a Registered Nurse in acute care settings preferred
Clinical Competency Assessment - SEARHC
High Risk Competency - SEARHC

Education

Nursing degree required
Bachelor of Science in Nursing preferred

Knowledge & Skills

Sound knowledge of clinical practice standards, evidence-based practices, and quality improvement
Expertise in managing acutely ill patients, medical equipment, and safe medication administration
Skilled in patient assessments, specialized procedures, patient education, and communication strategies
Proficient in Microsoft Office, electronic health records, and email
Strong leadership, organizational skills, and ability to motivate teams under stress
