Roles & Responsibilities

• Administer radiation treatments precisely and compassionately according to physicians' prescribed plans, ensuring patient safety at every step
• Operate and maintain linear accelerators, CT simulator, tomotherapy unit and brachytherapy equipment with attention to protocol and radiation safety
• Perform patient setup, positioning and immobilization, and verify treatment parameters to deliver accurate therapy
• Monitor patients closely during treatment, provide sedation/analgesia support when needed, and coordinate with the clinical team for any acute issues
• Document treatment details and patient responses accurately in the medical record and communicate effectively with physicians and multidisciplinary staff
• Support complex therapies including stereotactic radiosurgery, high dose rate brachytherapy and total body irradiation under established procedures
• Participate in quality assurance, safety checks and radiation safety programs to maintain an accredited, high-quality service

Qualifications

• Current Hawaii State Radiation Therapist license (required)
• Current CPR certification at Healthcare Professional level (required)
• Experience as a Radiation Therapist preferred
• Comfort operating linear accelerators, simulators, and CT imaging equipment
• Ability to meet physical demands: standing, walking, lifting up to 25 lbs, and performing repetitive arm/hand motions

Education

• Current Hawaii State Radiation Therapist license
• CPR (Healthcare Professional) certification

Knowledge & Skills

• Administer radiation treatments and follow radiation safety protocols
• Operate linear accelerators (including tomotherapy) and CT simulators
• High dose rate brachytherapy and brachytherapy workflows
• Stereotactic radiosurgery and total body irradiation familiarity
• Patient monitoring and sedation/analgesia care as needed
• Blood irradiator and simulator operation
• Strong computer literacy for treatment documentation and planning systems
• Excellent communication and teamwork in a fast-paced oncology environment
