Shift Type: Tuesday-Saturday, varied day shifts (8:30 AM - 5:00 PM; 9:00 AM - 5:30 PM; 9:30 AM - 6:00 PM; 10:30 AM - 7:00 PM). Day shift. May require occasional Saturday or Sunday and holiday coverage; staff receive a weekday day-off when working a weekend shift. Schedules are posted about a month in advance.

Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide skilled acute care physical therapy to a broad inpatient population, including med-surg, ICU, oncology, and cardiology patients
• Assess, plan, and implement treatment for postoperative orthopedics and total joint patients to optimize recovery
• Deliver safe, effective therapy to ventilated and ICU patients, collaborating closely with nursing and RT teams
• Document clinical care accurately and timely in Cerner to support continuity and quality of care
• Communicate and coordinate with the interdisciplinary team (physicians, nurses, pharmacy, RT) to advance patient goals
• Supervise and mentor rehab techs as needed to enhance patient care and workflow
• Participate in holiday and occasional weekend coverage as part of the inpatient team

Qualifications

• Current Physical Therapist license (able to submit license in CA)
• Minimum 2 years of acute care physical therapy experience (explicit requirement)
• Proven experience with orthopedics / total joint care and ICU/ventilator patients
• BLS certification required
• Comfortable charting in Cerner EMR
• COVID-19 vaccination required per facility policy
• Able to start with a brief, focused floor-specific orientation (usually a day or less)

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong acute care assessment and treatment skills
• Ventilator/ICU patient management and safety
• Postoperative orthopedics and total joint rehabilitation
• Medsurg, oncology, and cardiology patient care knowledge
• Familiarity with Cerner charting workflows
• Ability to supervise and collaborate with rehab techs
• Comfort working in a fast-paced inpatient hospital environment
