Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide on-site medical coverage for high school athletic events and after-school activities, ensuring athletes stay safe and cared for
• Prevent, evaluate, diagnose, and manage athletic injuries through hands-on assessment and evidence-based rehab plans
• Manage concussion cases: assess, monitor symptoms, supervise return-to-play progression, and communicate clearance decisions
• Document evaluations and treatments accurately and promptly to support continuity of care and compliance
• Perform occupational health duties such as post-offer employment testing (POETs), desk assessments, and functional progress assessments
• Coordinate schedules and coverage for events, working closely with coaches, parents, and school staff
• Support the orthopedic clinic as a physician extender: take histories, help schedule surgeries, and educate patients on care plans

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Athletic Training, Exercise Science, or Kinesiology required
• Minimum 1+ years of related work experience
• Current Athletic Trainer license for the state of Wisconsin required
• Board of Certification (BOC) credential required
• BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required
• Valid driver’s license required
• Strong attention to detail, excellent interpersonal communication, and problem-solving skills

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Athletic Training, Exercise Science, or Kinesiology

Knowledge & Skills

• Proficient musculoskeletal examination and injury evaluation
• Concussion evaluation and return-to-play management
• Emergency care and first-response skills
• Experience with occupational health assessments (POETs, desk assessments, FPNs)
• Ability to design and supervise job-specific conditioning and rehabilitation programs
• Comfortable with computers and clinical documentation
• Effective communicator with athletes, parents, coaches, and clinical teams
