Roles & Responsibilities

• Assist residents with activities of daily living, such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting
• Provide compassionate bedside care to support comfort, dignity, and independence
• Monitor residents for changes in condition and promptly report concerns to nursing staff
• Help with safe transfers and mobility support, using proper body mechanics
• Chart care activities and observations accurately and timely
• Support mealtime assistance and ensure residents receive proper nutrition
• Practice infection prevention and maintain a clean, safe environment
• Collaborate with the care team to follow individualized care plans

Qualifications

• Current GNA certification or equivalent required
• High school diploma or GED preferred
• BLS/CPR certification preferred or willing to obtain
• Prior experience caring for older adults or in long-term care is a plus
• Ability to pass background and health screenings as required by facility
• Strong communication skills and a compassionate bedside manner

Education

• GNA certification (required)
• High school diploma or GED (preferred)

Knowledge & Skills

• Basic nursing assistant skills including ADLs and vital signs
• Familiarity with resident-centered care and geriatrics best practices
• Safe patient handling and transfer techniques
• Accurate documentation and charting habits
• Good teamwork, time management, and prioritization skills
• Ability to follow care plans and direction from licensed nurses
