Roles & Responsibilities

• Assist the orthodontist during examinations and procedures, ensuring patient comfort throughout
• Prepare and sterilize instruments, equipment, and treatment rooms following strict infection control protocols
• Take and process dental X-rays as needed, with attention to safety and quality
• Educate patients on oral hygiene and post-treatment care, fostering positive experiences
• Maintain accurate patient records and manage chairside documentation efficiently
• Collaborate with the dental team to ensure smooth workflow and exceptional patient care

Qualifications

• Current Dental Assistant certification (e.g., DANB) or state-specific registration
• Prior experience as an orthodontic assistant is preferred
• X-ray certification (radiation health and safety)
• CPR certification
• Strong communication and patient care skills

Knowledge & Skills

• Knowledge of orthodontic procedures and terminology
• Proficiency with dental practice management software (e.g., Denticon)
• Excellent chairside manner and patient interaction
• Attention to infection control and sterilization protocols
