Roles & Responsibilities

• Perform thorough dental cleanings and scaling to remove plaque and tartar
• Assess patients' oral health and report findings to the dentist
• Take and develop dental x-rays to aid in diagnosis
• Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques
• Apply fluoride and sealants as needed
• Maintain sterilization of dental instruments and equipment

Qualifications

• Active Dental Hygienist license in Virginia
• Associate's degree in Dental Hygiene from an accredited program
• Current CPR certification
• Excellent communication and patient care skills
• Experience working in a dental practice is a plus

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong knowledge of dental procedures and instruments
• Ability to work closely with dentists and other dental staff
• Detail-oriented with a gentle touch
• Great interpersonal skills to put patients at ease
• Familiarity with dental software and record keeping
