Roles & Responsibilities

• Assist the orthodontist during chairside procedures, including braces adjustments and retainers
• Prepare and organize instruments, materials, and treatment rooms
• Take digital X-rays and intraoral scans as directed
• Provide excellent patient care and comfort throughout their visit
• Maintain accurate and confidential patient records
• Sterilize and disinfect equipment following OSHA standards
• Educate patients and families on oral hygiene and orthodontic care

Qualifications

• Certified Dental Assistant (CDA) or equivalent, with Maryland registration/licensure as required
• Current BLS/CPR certification
• Previous orthodontic experience strongly preferred
• Comfortable using dental technology and software
• Strong communication skills and a patient-first attitude
• Ability to work a per diem schedule

Knowledge & Skills

• Knowledge of orthodontic instruments, wires, and brackets
• Understanding of infection control and sterilization protocols
• Familiarity with dental practice management software
• Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities
• Great interpersonal skills with patients of all ages
• Attention to detail in patient records and procedures
