Roles & Responsibilities

• Assist the orthodontist during exams and procedures, making sure every patient feels comfortable and informed
• Prepare treatment rooms and sterilize instruments to keep things safe and welcoming
• Take and develop dental X-rays and impressions to support accurate treatment planning
• Educate patients on oral hygiene and orthodontic appliance care
• Document treatment plans and update patient records in Denticon software
• Provide compassionate, responsive care to patients of all ages

Qualifications

• Current Maryland Dental Assistant certification or registration
• X-ray certification in Maryland
• Prior experience as an orthodontic assistant or in a dental office
• Comfort working with orthodontic patients, including children and teens
• Familiarity with Denticon or similar dental software is a plus

Knowledge & Skills

• Knowledge of orthodontic procedures and instruments
• Skill in taking dental radiographs and impressions
• Familiarity with dental practice management software, especially Denticon
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills for patient care
• Attention to detail in sterilization and infection control
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced orthodontic environment
