Roles & Responsibilities

• Assist the orthodontist during examinations and procedures, ensuring a smooth patient flow
• Prepare and sterilize instruments and operatory rooms following infection control protocols
• Take and develop dental X-rays and impressions as directed
• Educate patients on oral hygiene and orthodontic care, answering their questions with a smile
• Maintain accurate patient records and assist with treatment planning
• Provide exceptional patient care and comfort, especially for younger patients

Qualifications

• Certified Dental Assistant (CDA) or equivalent experience preferred
• Current CPR/BLS certification
• Radiography (X-ray) certification in Maryland, or willingness to obtain
• Experience in orthodontics is a plus, but passionate newcomers welcome
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Knowledge & Skills

• Knowledge of dental instruments and sterilization techniques
• Understanding of orthodontic treatments, brackets, wires, and retainers
• Proficiency with dental software and patient management systems
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced clinical environment
