Roles & Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive dental cleanings and periodontal therapy to keep smiles healthy
• Conduct thorough patient assessments, including medical history and oral cancer screenings
• Take and develop dental radiographs for accurate diagnosis and treatment planning
• Provide personalized oral hygiene education and preventive care tips to patients
• Assist the dentist during procedures and ensure every patient feels comfortable and cared for
• Maintain strict infection control standards and sterilize instruments with precision

Qualifications

• Active Dental Hygienist license in the state of Virginia
• Current CPR/BLS certification
• Graduate of an accredited dental hygiene program
• A genuine passion for patient care and education
• Clear communication skills and a friendly, approachable manner
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced clinical environment

Knowledge & Skills

• Expertise in dental prophylaxis and scaling/root planing
• Solid understanding of dental radiography and safety protocols
• Knowledge of infection control and OSHA standards
• Strong interpersonal skills for building trust with patients
• Attention to detail in documentation and charting
• Experience with electronic dental records (EDR) software
