Roles & Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality dental care including exams, preventive care, and restorative procedures
• Perform diagnostic imaging and interpret radiographs to inform treatment plans
• Manage dental emergencies and triage patient needs in a correctional facility setting
• Maintain accurate, timely clinical documentation and treatment records
• Follow infection control protocols and maintain a safe clinical environment
• Collaborate with nursing, security, and administrative staff to coordinate patient care
• Provide patient education and counseling to support oral health and treatment adherence

Qualifications

• DDS or DMD from an accredited dental school
• Active California dental license required
• Current BLS/CPR certification (or willingness to obtain upon hire)
• Clinical experience in general dentistry preferred
• Willingness to undergo background checks and meet correctional facility requirements
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a diverse patient population

Education

• DDS or DMD from an accredited dental program
• Completion of state licensure requirements

Knowledge & Skills

• Proficiency in restorative dentistry and routine dental procedures
• Experience with dental radiography and interpretation
• Knowledge of infection control standards and OSHA guidelines
• Comfortable working within structured, security-sensitive environments
• Familiarity with clinical documentation and basic dental software systems
