Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, person-centered care to geriatric and rehab patients
• Assist patients with activities of daily living (bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting)
• Support mobility and transfers safely, using proper body mechanics and devices
• Monitor, record and report patient observations and changes to the nursing team
• Help support therapy and rehab activities as directed by clinicians
• Maintain a clean, safe and respectful environment that preserves patient dignity
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary staff to deliver consistent, high-quality care

Qualifications

• Current GNA (Geriatric Nursing Assistant) certification or equivalent
• BLS/CPR certification or willingness to obtain upon hire
• Prior experience in geriatric care, long-term care, or rehab preferred
• Comfortable working per-diem schedules and adapting to varied assignments
• Able to pass background checks and required health screenings

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Completion of an accredited GNA training program

Knowledge & Skills

• Skilled in assisting with ADLs and basic patient care tasks
• Strong communication and teamwork with nursing and therapy staff
• Familiarity with patient safety, infection control and documentation
• Empathy, patience, and a calm approach to working with older adults
• Comfortable following care plans and reporting changes promptly
