Geriatric Nursing Assistant

Location: Lanham, MD

Contract Type: Per-Diem

Shift Type: Per diem, 7:00 AM - 3:00 PM (Day shift, as scheduled)

Hours per Week: 40

Candidate Pay Rate: $18 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Provide compassionate hands-on care to geriatric patients and residents
Assist with activities of daily living including bathing, dressing, and feeding
Support rehabilitation activities under the supervision of nursing staff
Monitor and report changes in patient condition, including vital signs
Document care accurately and communicate clearly with the care team
Promote a safe, clean, and respectful environment for residents
Engage residents with dignity and encourage independence whenever possible

Qualifications

Current GNA certification in the state of Maryland
High school diploma or equivalent
Basic CPR/BLS certification preferred or willing to obtain
Previous experience in geriatric or long-term care preferred
Strong communication skills and a team-oriented mindset
Ability to pass background checks and meet facility onboarding requirements

Education

High school diploma or equivalent
Completion of an accredited Geriatric Nursing Assistant program

Knowledge & Skills

Hands-on geriatric care and understanding of ADLs
Safe patient transfers and mobility assistance techniques
Vital signs monitoring and basic clinical observation
Infection control and basic safety practices
Accurate documentation and electronic charting familiarity
Compassionate patient interaction and family communication
